Here you will find products we have found useful in our T1D journey. They may or may not be directly created for diabetes.
- Athletic Wrap – This product has helped save our Dexcom and Omnipod when our T1D is playing sports or at the pool. Sometimes we add it at playdates just for peace of mind. I bought some colorful options here.
- Device Holder Clothing – There are undergarments and shirts that have special pockets to hold insulin pumps and devices related to your CGM. You can find that here.
- Grip Shield – This product we don’t currently use but I did like it for peace of mind on keeping the Dexcom on, it’s a stabilizer for your CGM and pump. You can get it here.
- Overlay Patches – For us, these items have really helped us keep products from coming off early. We buy ours at The Sugar Patch, also where we buy our underlay patches.
- Spi Belt – Our T1D wears her Spi Belt everywhere. If you want something that is petite and can be hidden under clothing, this is a good thing to have. We bought ours here.
- Sugar Pixel – This product is kind of an alarm clock that is linked to your child’s CGM (in our case, a Dexcom G6). What I love about it is that I have it set to alert me in case we go below a certain number and above a certain number but only during night hours (you can customize it to any time of day). During the day I rely on my phone to give me updates but because my phone is always on vibrate, this product allows me to sleep comfortably. You can find it at Custom Type One.
- Underlay Barrier Patches – Our T1D’s skin was suffering under her Dexcom and Omnipod so we found underlay patches that go underneath those products and we were pleasantly surprised with how much of a difference they have made. We buy ours from The Sugar Patch, you can find them here. Side note, we also use stickers from The Sugar Patch to go over our products and we find they are easy on her skin. Plus they have fun holiday themes :).
- Warrior Buddy – If your T1D is little, you know it’s important to have representation for their toys! We bought this for our Our Generation doll and it was a hit! We got it at Deck My Diabetes.
